This inbox is not an emergency service and is not monitored continuously. Do not rely on Last Drop or an email response for urgent navigation or water decisions.

Common questions

Can I navigate the included loops?

No. The bundled packs are fictional demonstrations. Their geometry and water points are not real navigation guidance.

Does a water pin mean safe drinking water?

No. Source labels and dates are supplied by the pack author. They do not establish current water availability, safe access or potability. Check current conditions with the relevant land manager and carry an independent plan.

What works without a connection?

Saved plan settings and imported route data stay on your device. Apple Maps basemap tiles are not downloaded by Last Drop for offline use, so map coverage is not guaranteed offline.

Why did my import fail?

The current prototype accepts Last Drop JSON Trail Packs, not arbitrary GPX files or map PDFs. Imports need a closed loop, valid coordinates, positive mileage, unique identifiers, attribution and licensing information. The maximum file size is 5 MB with up to 20 packs.

How do I restart the estimate?

In Plan, update the stored water to match your current reserve and choose “Confirm current supply and restart estimate.” The planning window uses that timestamp and your chosen consumption, pace and buffer. It is not a medical estimate.

Do I need to share my location?

No. Planning and manual trail progress work without location permission. You can change permission in iOS Settings. Location displays your position; it does not automatically update trail progress.
